Still waiting for a referral. I was really hoping we would hear something in Jul. Every month I hope but I have to go away for work for 7 weeks starting 22 Aug so July would have worked so perfectly-get the referral, I get to take care of everything that needs to get done (LOI, visit with IA doctor, get passports done, start serious shopping). Then I could have my course finished, then come home, get Jaida, go on parental leave and be settled with all of our family for Christmas. See what I mean-it would have worked out so perfectly :)
I was sad for a few days but now hoping for a referral in Aug and still hoping to have her home for Christmas.
I am trying to spend my waiting time in a positvie way so I am reading lots. I have learnt a lot more about attachment and bonding (and still lots to learn) that I wouldn't have known 6 months ago.
Hayden and I have lots of conversations about Jaida and it is so much fun. He is very excited to have a little sister and has said so many sweet things:
- Hayden wants to be 8 yrs old when we get her and wants her to be 2 (he wants to be older to be a really good, big brother). He asked if he was 18 if we would still ask for a 4yr old (oh please, please don`t have us wait that long-lol)
-he has a friend who is from China so Hayden asked him if he knew his sister Jaida in China
-he asked me yesterday if there is only one Jaida in China (since we are waiting for `Jaida`)
-I explain that Jaida won`t understand english when she first comes home so he said we will just have Tristan`s friend who speaks manderin live with us for awhile
Spending some time shopping of course :) Just bought some great luggage to take on the trip-thanks to the FOI yahoo group, getting more information than just adoption but shopping advice too-I love it. I wish I could travel with everyone that belongs to that group. We would have so much travelling together. I also visited Once Upon a Child and got some great deals-I really hope my girl likes skirts because I bought her 13 - lol. How could I leave them when they were $1 each.
